Well if singing wasn't enough, Chris Brown stops by MTV2 with Funkmaster Flex at his show "Funk Flex Full Throttle" and drops a couple bars.He has rapped here and there on his mixtapes "in my zone" and "fan of a fan"He's actually not bad. If he dropped a mixtape with him mostly or only  rappin i would rock to it.I think Mr.2 up 2 down has it in him to lay down a bunch of bars.

Funk Flex Full Throttle

Last Name London ..... First Name Theophilus

First i had to channell some Theophilus for this post, hence the picture. Mr. London has finally revealed the name of his first album, "Times Are Weird These Days", it is slated to be released this summer on 7-19-11.  He is a mixture of hip hop , electro and pop from the 90's. I have infectiously fallen in love with his mixtapes and with the release of "Last Name London", I am sure to be at the Best Buy in Union Square picking up his album. I have been a fan sense "This Charming Mixtape" , and I heard "Cold Pillow." I knew he was the solution to the vacant space of my musically ridden heart.

But i willl prolong this no more, check out his newest single "Last Name London" enjoy!!!!

Even if this is old "I Want You" is still one of my favorites................

Future of Hip Hop : Gilbere Forte

I have beend working on having more of my personal music faves on her so i created, Future of Hip Hop. Where every once and a while i will have a short convo with some of the up and comers in music today. I had the pleasure of attending Bamboozle 2011 and there were a lot of big names on the bill. Wiz Khalifa , Lil Wayne, Pusha T, Travie Mccoy and many more. As much as I loved all the big names there was one name that I ran across that I knew I had to check out, Gilbere Forte'. Thanks to a Good Friend (Najah) that already knew how big of a fan I am of his music. Cold Summer being one of my all time favorites (Check the first Mixtape "87 Dreams"), he is changing the perspective i was beginning to have about the future of hip hop. I am a seed stemming from listening to music like Jdilla , Jayz, Common , Mos Def and Erykah Badu. Born in Flint, Michigan he has moved around Chicago and after a few years ended up in Philly.e I cam across him last year after a friend (S/O to Yasmine) asked me if i had heard anything off his mixtape "87 Dreams" and i hadn't. Then i looked him up and come to find out there was a buzz going on about him well before i knew about him. I fell in love with the mixtape and "Cold Summer" really sold me and from there on I have been following his success.

Then he got his video for "Black Chukkas" on 106 & Park late last year

He has been touring all over, SXSW, Bamboozle and even all the way in Cali. He is an artist to watch and his recent mixtape with the legendary Don Cannon "Eyes of Veritas" is a hit!!! You can go to his site www.gilbereforte.com to download it for FREE  and see all his upcoming shows ;)

500 days of Gay

I just thought this movie was one of the best movies i have seen in a while. Then my good friend Greyg (i mispelled on purpose inside joke) decided to make his own short and sweet version of the lovers tale film. He enjoys some quality time with his good buddy Collin in IKEA.It is a very cute and engaging clip, the facial expressions were very Minaj. I loved the part where they fed each other. If only they could have worn chaps, i think that would have changed the caliber of the film. So enjoy the foolishness of there Gay parody called "500 Days Of Gay"

I am willing to stalk the New Era cap store until these release. Being a new comer in the hat collecting world, I like to get head wear that is either odd or unique (or both). I came across this ad about N.E.R.D. putting a collection together of Billionaire Boys Club fitted's with New Era . I love the staple of the nerd army gear but it would be awesome to have a BBC cap;-) Just saying my birthday is in 1 month ....Check out the video of them talking about the caps ;-)

My main man Tyler, he has been on his Promotional grind. He has been dropping a slew of hilarious clips, that make me think pretty soon he needs to be on SNL. All the hype is for his album release coming up on May 10th. I love the fact that he sounds like pops from FRIDAY at a golf range. Workshops will include:

"Fall in love (Your Funeral)" w/Erykah Badu singing in the studio

Always mesmerizing, her voice has renamed untouched in my opinion. I have been a fan and still stand by her no no matter how crazy she may be.  In this video she is singing one of my favorite song "Fall in love" from her album "New Amerykah Part Two(Your Funeral)". She is singing to Jay Electronica and Supernova, its a pretty sweet rendition of the song. Its got that MTV Unplugged feel to it, low lights,intimate setting and the bareness of a good voice. Enjoy ;-)

Oh and I think its sweet that she is holding her baby  towards the end while she is singing.

MY future Husband must be a SUPREME !!!

In the streets of New York there is always swagger walking around, retro, hippie, hipster, trendy you name it New York has got it. I am a fan of all swaggers that are running there towns but the guys that walk around with Supreme stamped on there fits, well lets just say they have a special place in my heart. Its a brand that is clean and surprising all at once. They have been on the rise for some time and the more i see, the more i wish they would work on a line for women. The random sparks of color that flow in with spring, the rugged leather and camouflage i love it all.

Then I came across a Supreme spread that Tyler the Creator (from Odd the Future) in Ollie Magazine. He is swagged out and brings his west coast smile and ease to the looks. The editorial is fun and colorful, two of my favorite things to have in a look. For all of those riding the late bus in underground music here is a video of my favorite song. He may look insane but he is a lyrical genius and i refuse to overlook him!!!! so get hip !!!

Christian Loubotin is ready for the 4th of July

Christian Loubotin is always pushing there shoe schemes to the next level. This Star-Spangled inspired sneaker is quit a catch. The outer shell of it is layered in many different textures. Its a high-top sneaker with cream suede and silver stars along the front and back. Blue and silver dots along the sides, with a a red patent leather trim accented with a gold trim. I think of fireworks and summertime when i see these sneaks, they are dubbed fly ass sneakers.

Beautiful people and Basketball w/ Chris Brown

If you haven't already heard this song. YOUR LATE. I know he has been saying at all of his album release parties that the next single would be "she ain't you". But after the situation that occurred with him at Good Morning America and Playing basketball in NYC by the West 4th street station (pics below)

This video emerged online and it came just in time. It wont erase what happened but it helps to get people back to thinking about his music, not his outburst. I love the feel of the song it has a dance feel and universal message. That everyone is "BEAUTIFUL" , its even a testimony to what people go through every day. I hope you enjoy the video it speaks for itself, a lot of dancing, goofing around and celebrity cameos. "Sure Thing" that Miguel has got another hit

Yall know i love music but when it comes to new artists in R&B i am very particular with who i listen to.
Miguel's  last hit "All I Want Is You" was a testimony to what R&B use to be about, with feature J.Cole on it the song is still in rotation across the country. Now he has released "Sure Thing" and he is assuring  "our love is a sure thing". No doubt it is buzzing around and I have already heard it on the radio!! I hope to hear more from him. Just as long as he finds a better stylist, he is my boo but sometimes what he wears is not cute. The video is sexy, sultry and soulful, just like his voice. Chris Brown's Exclusives !!!!

 

So I was lucky enough to be at an album listening party here in NYC and  with Chris Brown. I just wanted to post two very important announcements that he made.

The first one would be the announcement of his next single  "She Ain't You", which is a spin off from "Human Nature" with Michael Jackson. I personally love it and think this will be a hit, he has already done so well will yeah 3x and look at me now.

Then he assured us that in 6 months, he will drop another album. So a lot of songs that leaked that didn't make it on this album will be on the next one "sweet heart" was one of them. I am pretty excited about this after today i see he is passionate about his comeback. He was doing the dougie, dancing around , i could see the spirit in him live as can be!!!!

He ended the show with " 2 years ago no one thought i would get this far (speaking on the Rihanna incident) well look at me now bitches"

Yves Saint Laurent the "plus belles pièces"

In Paris, Stefano Pilati (Head designer at the YSL house) a very direct and 60's inspired line hit the runway. It was very reminiscent of YSL lines from before, when simplicity was key and the woman's body was the ultimate focus. There were lots of double breasted coats (knee length), full sleeves, capes with a baroque feel, even men's tailored suits with no shirt underneath (keeps it sexy). Pilati has done a lot with YSL sense his takeover in 2002. Then after a few pieces of dark hounds tooth we get to see a few electric blue and purple pieces. Then there was a phase of tracksuits and all white floor length beauties. The were like the 70's  had comeback with one of Charlies Angels. Then finally the most magnificent wide legged pants with a bow belt and a plethora of feathers that covered the models arms. She looked as if she was blessed with a swans elegance and poise. It was an awesome show and proves how YSL is always staying present in fashion, they re invent things in way you weren't imagining.

Then there is the "plus belles pièces" or the "most beautiful piece"

ahh yess i have died and awakened in a land of wide leg bottoms, swan feathers and satin decadence.

Grills High Fashion?

Yeah i know the title maybe hard to believe but you read it correctly. In the Fall 2011 collection of Gareth Pugh, he premiered a Blue LED mouthpiece. You have to have a lot of swag to transform something that is usually depicted as a hood accessory into a high fashion piece. I love it, to top it off he had all his models rocking eye jewelry,.......i love it. It may not be the most functional but from a styling stand point it is something to stare at in awww. Enjoy
